Miscellaneous House Pictures
June 2006

In the weeks leading up to a visit from Jonas' family who were visiting from Sweden, we did a lot of housecleaning and decorating. We also purchased some new furniture. Here are photos of various rooms in our house.

New towels and towel rack in the guest bathroom upstairs.

Another view of the new towels.

Another shot of the guest bathroom upstairs. The theme, if you haven't guessed, is sort of flowery.

A new sideboard and cookbook shelf in the dinette area off the kitchen. We're not sure what else to put on the shelf besides the cookbooks. A plant?

New key and mail holder that hangs just inside the garage door (where we enter the house most often).

Another shot of the kitchen and center island.

A shot of the dinette area from the kitchen. Beyond, you can also see the livingroom.

A plaque that hangs on the wall above the kitchen table. It reads det bästa vi har är varandra, meaning the best thing we have is each other.

The clock hanging in our living room, a Christmas gift from Jonas' mother.

New key and mail holder that hangs just inside the garage door (where we enter the house most often).

A gorgeous watercolor of Örebro, the city where we once lived in Sweden.

View of the front door and stairway from the front room.

The mostly empty front room. We haven't really decided what to do with this room yet. The sofa bed in the picture was moved into a spare bedroom.

This is the view from the front door. The livingroom is through the far doorway and the stairs are to the right.

The new sofa bed we purchased from IKEA. It was a great deal!

Jonas' very clean office, where he does way too much work while at home.

Julia's office: one desk for computer use and one desk for other projects like scrapbooking.

The bookshelves in Julia's room which house her extensive collection of hedgehog figurines.

Inside the closet in Julia's room. Yes, it is functional IKEA shelving!

One view of the master bathroom.

Another angle inside the master bathroom.

One of the new light fixtures we installed in the guest room. This is the ceiling lamp.

Another light purchased for the guest bedroom, this one a touch lamp for the corner bookshelf.

A rogue sunflower that started growing in our yard. We didn't plant it, but we think the birds did!
