Trip to Las Vegas
December 9-13, 2005

For Julia's 30th(!!) birthday, Jonas had secretly planned a long weekend trip to Las Vegas. The highlight of the trip was supposed to have been attending the musical We Will Rock You, based on the music of Queen, Julia's favorite band. Unfortunately, a few weeks before the trip, the show was canceled. However, we still had a good time.

We flew in late Friday night and checked into the Stratosphere. We spent all day Saturday geocaching around the city, before returning to The Strip and seeing Cirque du Soleil: Ka. Sunday we toured Red Rock Canyon, exploring and finding a couple of geocaches, then caught the Blue Man Group show that night. Monday, Julia's birthday, we took a daytrip down to the Nevada/California/Arizona border, and Monday night when we returned to Las Vegas we found our milestone 700th cache, which turned out to be one of our favorite finds of all time! Tuesday we spent looking for more downtown geocaches, and then that evening we flew back home.
