Geocaching in the Southwest Metro
October 02, 2005

Heading into today, we had found 485 geocaches. Our goal today was to find a maximum of 14 so that next weekend we can do #500 somewhere out of town. We're hoping to go to Duluth. We found caches in Chaska, Shakopee, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, and Shorewood.

While on a trail near the Minnesota River we saw two snakes. One was clearly a garter snake, but the other was very small and tan with a cream-colored stripe on its back. I'm not sure if this was also a garter snake. In another cache area there was an enormous explosion of mushrooms. There were pieces all over the place. When whole, these mushrooms must have been HUGE!
